JFC Show Teeth; MCFC Show Grit: Jamshedpur FC 2 – 2 Mumbai City FC Review

JFC Find Cutting Edge; Promptly Lose Defensive Solidity

Jamshedpur FC would regret this result. Not because they didn’t play well but because they almost had that elusive first home win. Jamshedpur FC messed up on what they’ve been so good at since the beginning of the season – defence. After having gone down a goal, they actually managed to take the lead only to blow it in the end. Mumbai City FC, in contrast, now have the ignominious honour of conceding as many goals to JFC as seven other teams in the league. Tsk tsk… Continue reading

Super Machans Stifle the Blunt Men of Steel: Jamshedpur FC 0 – 1 Chennaiyin FC Review

Jamshedpur FC’s Attacking Woes Continue; Chennaiyin FC Show How to Kill Off Opponents…Again

I like technical games but let me be honest. During the festive season, you don’t really want to see technical games. You want stuff that gets your blood pumping and brings you to the edge of your seat. Yesterday’s game between Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC wasn’t it. It was a dull affair and I’ve come to realise that virtually every Chennaiyin FC game is a dull affair. Don’t get me wrong, the Super Machans are a great footballing side but They. Just. Don’t. Entertain. Continue reading

A Tale of Momos, Vada Pao, and the Chutney: NorthEast United FC 0 – 2 Mumbai City FC Review

Goals Make All the Difference Just Like Chutney Makes All the Difference

I don’t like the new trend of momos with mayonnaise. It’s silly. It takes away the edge of that dish. Without its red chutney, momos are basically boiled chicken in steamed flour. You enjoy the chicken but the bite is missing, if you know what I mean. NorthEast United FC were like that in this game. They attacked but they had no finish to them. I like vada pao too. Like momos, vada pao also get their bite from the red chutney. Mumbai City FC had that garlicky chutney. With that spice and that edge, they won this game. Continue reading

Efficient Chennaiyin Take the Southern Derby: Bengaluru FC 1 – 2 Chennaiyin FC Review

John Gregory Puts his EPL Tactical Pedigree on Display

Roca must be kicking himself today. That was a game that they should’ve won. Chennaiyin FC are a great team but Bengaluru’s A-Team is more than capable of, at least, getting a draw with them. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the Bengaluru FC A-Team on the pitch yesterday. Roca’s team selection made it easier for Chennaiyin FC to win this game. Continue reading
